With Iran getting nukes, and the Ukraine and Russia teeing off for war over Natrual Gas (a bit less sexy than War for Oil), its starting to become pretty clear that military intervention into energy markets (so long our domain) is escalating.

Americans have a choice to make. We can invest, seriously invest, in alternative, reusable fuels now, or we can just forever be at war, at real expense to our life, liberty, happiness, and economy. It just makes so much fucking sense to cast off the shackles of petroleum, and use our huge techological resources to develop something new, which won't require half my taxes going to support War.

Gore, the object of so much riducule, was abso-fucking-lutely right when he made this an issue in 2000. And Dems would be foolish, absolutely foolish, not to make this an issue, THEIR issue, in 2006 and 2008. Energy Independence is a goal that brings jobs, wealth, and Peace. For us, anyway.
