UPS and Amazon

Grrr.

Kristi bought a Hoover SteamVac from Amazon/Target.com. Target didn't have this model in their stores, and neither did any other local seller of such things. So we bought it from Target.com (which is operated by Amazon). Paid $23 for UPS ground.

Well, Wednesday morning, UPS tracking shows it out for delivery, which the 842* other times we've had things shipped via UPS ground meant we could expect it to be delivered that day. Well, nearly three whole business days later, we still don't have it. UPS.com tracking indicates it's been on some guys truck for three days.

No problem, you're probably thinking. Just call UPS and ask what the fuck is up. Very well. We do that. And UPS tells us that Amazon "has instructed" them to refer all shipping inquiries from Amazon customers to Amazon. This kinda pisses me off, and I ask why the hell I can't put a tracer on something that is being shipped to me, me being the most interested party in all of this. To which I'm told 'Sorry sir. We can't do anything, it's shipped under Amazon's account, and inquiries must go through them'.

I'm stunned at this. It's on a fucking UPS truck. Now I'm being told I have to send email to Amazon (yes, email. The largest e-tailer on the planet doesn't seem to have a customer service phone number) so THEY can tell UPS to put a tracer on the package to find out where it is? What the hell? That will add at least 24 hours, maybe 72 hours, since this is a Friday afternoon.

Is that customer service?

*number may be slightly inflated for effect.

Dude, what the _hell_ is up with your comments? That's a ridiculous amount of comment spam. Aren't people just wonderful?

You may think about popping in MT-Blacklist. With that and the iage verification system I haven't had comment spam in a long time.

I'm just flabbergasted that it seems like they're hitting all your posts. Subtle, eh? Nice thing about the Blacklist is that it'll whack all the existing spam when you install it.
