Man, I miss Waldemar...

Mark busts out some book learnin with a nice explanation of Cantor Sets. Some good comments, too, with examples other neat manifestations of mathematical oddities. I think I'd probably really dig a Math blog. Wonder if a grad student somewhere is running one...

I guess the one thing that stands out above all the other things I learned while getting my degree in Math was how to draw a straight line. I've smoked a bit of pot in my life. Not much, by any means. But enough to know what being high feels like. And it never compared to the "wow, man" ness old Waldemar Weber was delivering everyday in MATH 402, Modern Geometry. That class kept me awake at night. For years.

I checked out the faculty page for the Math Dept. @ BGSU, and noticed most of my profs are retired or have moved on. Must be a whole new group of people that most of the University population loathes. :)
