55g FW tank June, 2003

After my die off last fall, my tank has sat more or less dormant. I haven't had any fish in it. I changed the water once a month or so in the interim. Kept the filter running. But it was empty and lifeless.

Getting tired of this, I decided it was time again to re-populate. To that end, I took some measures to clean the tank up and get it ready for life. Once I was comfortable enough with the water, I spent about $15 on some disposable (ie. inexpensive) fish.

3 Giant Danios (the big ones)
3 Leopard Danios (with the long fins)
5 Zebra Danios (the small striped ones)

And finally, another snail. I loved the International Snail of Mystery a ton. So I couldn't bring life back to the tank without something to fill his shoe. To that end, a small Mystery Snail was purchased. He's pretty cool. The edges of his body and his tentacles are covered with pinkish dots. Kristi suggested we name him "Pox", since the description reminded her of chicken pox. Since it also alludes to something in the news (MonkeyPox) I thought it a great choice. I'll get pics of this feature eventually.

These guys are going to spend the next month in there, and if most of them stay alive, another young Tiger O will be moving in.
