Going to the Chapel...

Heading off to CLE this afternoon. Flight CO2137. So if you are a terrorist, please pick another lfight to fuck with.

Going there to watch one of my best pals, Brandt P. Fundak wed his wife to be. Of course, that's just an excuse to get together with the college buds and drink. A star studded event which I, Mr. J.D. Zawodny, and one other blogger who may or may not wish to be associated with us publically.

I'll also get to see, for the first time in person, the lovely Miss Allyson Myers. I'm giddy.

Fantasy Baseball Draft

Had my FBBL draft tonight. Not unhappy with my picks. Some of the guys I wanted got away, but overall I'm pleased.

1. Carlos Delgado, 1B Toronto
2. Manny Ramírez, OF Boston
3. Mike Piazza, C/1B New York Mets
4. Kerry Wood, P Chicago Cubs
5. Curt Schilling, P Boston
6. Juan Pierre, OF Florida
7. Rafeal Furcal, SS Atlanta
8. Johan Santana, P Minnesota
9. Troy Gluas, 3B Anahiem
10. Carlos Zambrano, P Chicago Cubs
11. Troy Percival, P Anahiem
12. Marcus Giles, 2B Atlanta
13. Brandon Webb, P Arizona
14. Freddie García, P Seattle
15. Jacques Jones, OF Minnesota
16. Austin Kearns, OF The Natti
17. Rocco Baldelli, OF Tampa Bay
18. Paul Lo Duca, C/1B Los Angeles
19. Shigetoshi Hasegawa, P Seattle
20. Rich Aurilia, SS Seattle
21. Vinny Castillo, 3B Colorado
22. Jose Cruz, Jr., OF Tampa Bay

I'm pretty happy with each pick. I didn't pick anyone too high, and got a few great steals late. I had the 9th pick, out of 10. I was worried that I wouldn't get any stud SP, but the injury plagued years Wood and Schilling had put them down ont he lists, and people passed on them. Got them both back-to-back. Best part of my draft.

I like that I have a few SB threats in Furcal, Pierre, Baldelli, Cruz Jr., and Giles. I didn't have any SB guys last year, and it sucked losing that catagory every week. Pierre, Giles, and Furcal all score a bunch of runs, too. And Delgado and Manny are RBI factories. If Kearns stays healthy, I have a fairly prodigious lineup.

Most of my SP are strikeout guys, including two of the best in Wood and Schilling. I should compete for that stat every week, too. I likr the closers I picked up late. Percival was a steal, and Hesegawa could be a big guy this year.

Tivo up, pretty much

Got the Tivo up, but ther eis a one little problem withthe configuration that i'm working on. It doesn't have the right channel lineups. I might go through guided setup again to make sure I chose the right cable provider.

Taking the TW DVR back to get the regular digital terminal, now that I can at least set up some manual recordings.

My Ass Hurts

Took a cycling/spinning class last night at the gym. And it was hard.

My pelvic bone was already bruised on each side from riding the Lifecycle stationary bikes. I don't blame the bike in the class for this, as it's a pretty good bike with a nice saddle.

My one beef withthe Lemond bike is that it doesn't have a freewheel. So you can't stop for even a second. And that just kills me, since when I (used to) ride a lot, I would often grab a second or two of rest as I went downhill or cruising on a flat. So both my muscles and my head are trained to take that little rest. But when I did last night, those pedals don't stop.

It's alos hard for me to stand on that bike. I suppose I'll get used to it. But I like to sway the bike when I'm standing for a climb or a sprint. Not a lot, but a little to help with my balance. But the Lemond is fixed, it doesn't move. Made it a lot more difficult, for me, to get out of the saddle.

So while I don't really place any fault on the bike for compounding an existing problem, my old habits certainly need some tweaking to adjust to the bike.

Those Lifecycle bikes are to blame, however. A big ass hard plastic women's seat on it. I spent 30 minutes total on that thing, and it hurts to sit. Never using one of them again.

Upgrade problems

I got the bad drive copied to the new drive, but when installed in the Tivo, Tivo won't boot. Instead cycling through a series of reboots.

There are two primary possibilities:

1. The bad drive was too corrupt,a nd a usuable image could not be made from it.
2. The new drive is also bad.

Option 2 is being tested now, running diagnostics on it to verify it's in good shape. If it is, then I need to find a virgin image of a Sony SRV-3000 to restore to my new drive. I recall Tivo cracking down on some of the sites that were hosting these images, so I may need to dig that eye patch out of the box with my zip disks full of Napster era mp3s.
